眼看高潮又起。

'There was a distinct suggestion of corpse-lights and railway station waiting-rooms about the lights which shone forth from the windows of Cold Comfort... the lights looked positively rorty'

译：“仿佛暗示了令人难以宽慰的农庄的窗户上出现了磷火和火车站等候室里的那种灯光。... 这样的灯光看起来倒是好得多。”

评：如果坚持音乐比喻的话至少是‘演奏’吧，或：‘红艳艳的火光在他那张激昂的脸上涂抹上变幻莫测的投影。’

'his eyes fixed triumphantly upon some far-off, ecstatic vision.'

译：“他的眼睛露出得意扬扬的目光，盯着远处仿佛令人欣喜若狂的景象。”
